Worth Valley Young Farmers are extremely charitable group and through-out the year we help all sorts of charities both local and national. During 2003 we raised £850 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service.
Ducking Stools were used during the medieval ages; women who were nags and scolds were oft punished by means of the ducking stool and the unfortunate culprit was dunked in the river.
Nowadays though we have modernised and Worth Valley Young Farmers has its very own mechanical water torture for hire in the form a portable Ducking Stool. So now you have the opportunity to raise money for good causes by dunking various people into a large water filled drinking tank.
Throughout the years we hire out the ducking stool at a low rate to local charities and it has been a huge success at raising money at various fundraising events.
Since we provide such a good service with the ducking stool we have a loyal customer base that tends to hire the stool several times per year to promote various charity awareness.
Our Ducking Stool has also featured on Channel 5 TV: The Gadget Show; episode 'Laptops: banged, chilled, dunked and blown up.' It was referred to as a "dunking stool" and was used to test Laptop durability and waterproofness.
Please note: page is under development at the moment awaiting further details of the ducking stool data. Though if you are interested in hiring the ducking stool to raise some funds for a local charity please feel free to contact our Ducking Stool Manager [e-mail] regarding the ducking stool hire.
